Welcome to the Web site of the African American Center for World Mission, an affiliate of the U.S. Center for World Mission in Pasadena, CA. We thank you for visiting our site today and pray that you will find the information and resources that you are looking for to engage yourself and others in world missions.
Your visit here is not by chance. There is a glorious movement of the Holy Spirit in these last days to move believers beyond their local church walls to reach out to the global community. The Lord said the end would not come until the gospel has been preached in all the world (Matt. 24:14), and yet...
"How shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?" Rom. 10:14
The African American Center for World Mission works in partnership with churches, agencies and individuals to recruit, train and support African Americans called to the mission field. The Lord has blessed the African American church with a wealth of people and resources that are of great use on the mission field.
Nevertheless, African Americans represent less than one percent of missionaries from the U.S. to other nations. The numbers have been on the increase in recent years as the Lord continues to impress upon the hearts of all believers to go beyond community to reach those with little to no exposure to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and/or with little to no resources to improve their way of life.
That is the purpose of missions, and is also the mandate of our Lord:
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised." Luke 4:18
You are our mission field. We are here to serve you in reaching the world for Jesus Christ.
